Enable 2FA, passkeys, and other security features to protect your assets

KYC Verification

First Deposit

Fund your account with crypto or fiat currency to start trading

Prerequisites

Before You Start
Valid email address for account verification
Mobile phone number for SMS verification (recommended)
Government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID) for KYC
Proof of address document (utility bill, bank statement - less than 3 months old)
Initial funds for deposit (crypto wallet or bank account/card)

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Create Your Account

1

Sign Up for NYYU
Navigate to the registration page:
Enter your details:
  • Email address (ensure it's active and accessible)
  • Strong password (minimum 8 characters, mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols)
  • Referral code (optional - if you have one from an existing user)
Verify your email:
  • Check your inbox for a verification email from NYYU
  • Click the verification link within 24 hours
  • If you don't see the email, check your spam folder
Common Mistake: Weak Passwords

Don't use easily guessable passwords like "password123" or your birthday. Use a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords. Your account security is crucial for protecting your assets.

Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

2

Secure Your Account with 2FA
Choose your 2FA method:

Authenticator App

Most Secure (Recommended)
  • • Google Authenticator
  • • Authy
  • • Microsoft Authenticator

SMS Authentication

Convenient but less secure
  • • Requires phone number
  • • May have delays
  • • Vulnerable to SIM swaps
Set up Authenticator App (Recommended):
  1. Download an authenticator app on your mobile device
  2. Navigate to Profile → Security Settings → Authenticator App
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from the app to confirm setup
  5. Save your backup codes in a secure location (not on your device)
Critical: Save Your Backup Codes

Write down your 2FA backup codes and store them in a safe place. If you lose access to your authenticator app without backup codes, you may permanently lose access to your account. Never store backup codes digitally or on the same device.

Step 3: Complete KYC Verification

3

Verify Your Identity

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification unlocks higher deposit/withdrawal limits and access to all platform features.

Verification Levels:
Level 1
Basic Verification
  • • Personal information (name, date of birth, address)
  • • Email and phone verification
  • • Limits: $2,000 daily deposits/withdrawals
  • • Processing time: Instant
Level 2
Advanced Verification
  • • Government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, national ID)
  • • Selfie with ID for identity confirmation
  • • Limits: $50,000 daily deposits/withdrawals
  • • Processing time: 1-24 hours
Level 3
Pro Verification
  • • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement)
  • • Source of funds declaration
  • • Limits: Unlimited deposits/withdrawals
  • • Processing time: 1-3 business days
Verification Process:
  1. Navigate to Profile → Identity & Payments → Identification
  2. Click "Start Verification" and choose your verification level
  3. Upload clear, high-quality photos of your documents
  4. Take a selfie for liveness check (follow the on-screen instructions)
  5. Submit and wait for review (you'll receive an email notification)
Tips for Quick Approval

• Ensure documents are in focus, not blurry or cut off

• Use good lighting - avoid shadows and glare

• Make sure all text and details are clearly visible

• Documents should not be expired

• Proof of address must be dated within the last 3 months

Step 4: Set Up Additional Security

4

Enhance Your Account Security
Optional but Highly Recommended:
Passkeys & Hardware Keys

Add biometric authentication or hardware security keys (like YubiKey) for the highest level of protection.

Profile → Security → Passkeys and Biometrics
Anti-Phishing Code

Set a unique code that appears in all official NYYU emails to help you identify legitimate communications.

Profile → Security → Anti-Phishing Code
Device Management

Monitor and manage all devices that have access to your account. Remove any unrecognized devices immediately.

Profile → Security → Device Management
Notification Preferences

Enable alerts for login attempts, withdrawals, and other important account activities.

Profile → Notices and Alerts

Step 5: Make Your First Deposit

5

Fund Your Account

Choose from multiple deposit methods based on your preference and verification level.

Deposit Methods:

Cryptocurrency

  • • BTC, ETH, USDT, and more
  • • Usually instant (after confirmations)
  • • No fees from NYYU (network fees apply)
  • • Available for all verification levels

Credit/Debit Card

  • • Instant deposits
  • • 2.5% processing fee
  • • Requires Level 2 KYC or higher
  • • Visa, Mastercard, Amex accepted

Bank Transfer

  • • SWIFT, SEPA supported
  • • 1-5 business days processing
  • • Low fees (varies by bank)
  • • Requires Level 2 KYC or higher

PayPal / Apple Pay / Google Pay

  • • Fast and convenient
  • • 3% processing fee
  • • Requires Level 2 KYC or higher
  • • Instant to few minutes
Crypto Deposit Steps:
  1. Navigate to Wallet → Deposit
  2. Select the cryptocurrency you want to deposit (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum)
  3. Copy your unique deposit address or scan the QR code
  4. Send crypto from your external wallet to this address
  5. Wait for network confirmations (BTC: 3 confirmations, ETH: 12 confirmations)
  6. Funds will appear in your wallet after confirmation
Critical: Always Verify Deposit Addresses

• Double-check the deposit address before sending funds

• Only send the matching cryptocurrency to its specific address (BTC to BTC address, ETH to ETH address)

• Sending the wrong cryptocurrency or to the wrong network will result in permanent loss of funds

• Start with a small test transaction first if you're unsure

• Never share your deposit address publicly or with untrusted parties

Step 6: Explore the Platform

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Skipping 2FA Setup

Many users delay enabling 2FA. This is the #1 security mistake. Enable it immediately after account creation.

Rushing into Large Deposits

Start with a small test deposit to verify everything works correctly before depositing larger amounts.

Not Saving Backup Codes

If you lose your 2FA device without backup codes, account recovery can take days or weeks. Save them securely.

Mixing Up Crypto Networks

Sending tokens on the wrong network (e.g., USDT on Ethereum instead of Tron) will result in permanent loss of funds.

Trading Without Understanding

Don't rush into trading. Complete the trading tutorial first and start with small amounts to learn.
